However, what is encouraging, is that the 50-hour yoga TTC will be counted against the 200 hour YTTC, in case you wish to continue your teacher training. Upon completion of the 50 hour yoga TTC, you will need to just complete the balance 150 hour yoga teacher training needed to obtain the 200 hour YTT certificate, which entitles you to obtain the Yoga Alliance registration. Curriculum and Assessment - 50 hour Yoga Teacher Training, Rishikesh

The level of the 50 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course is considered to be beginner’s course heading towards intermediate practice, should you wish to pursue further. The 50 hour Yoga TTC, will provide an introductory sessions about yogic practices, discipline, diet and cleansing rituals. The course will deepen your understanding of yoga and will take you on a way towards becoming a confident and competent yoga teacher. The curriculum entails the introduction of the following:

  • Study of traditional yoga asana or posture techniques,
  • Execution of asana in alignment with understanding of human anatomy and physiology
  • Asana practice with an understanding of benefits of certain asanas in treating ailments.
  • Study of yoga philosophy to deepen the understanding of the yogic lifestyle
  • Practice of subtle aspects of yoga like pranayama, mantra recitation, meditation to nurture inner strength

Assessments will be based on written as well as practical evaluation and you must have a minimum attendance of 90% for the duration of the course. Student conduct is an essential criterion for assessment. Your attendance will be accumulated at the end of the 200 hours course if you plan to do it. A tight schedule to adhere to the standards demands 6 to 7 hours of training classes in the day are assigned to some aspect of yoga. This includes both – theory and practice. The day starts at 5:30 a.m. to begin morning rituals followed by some yoga postures and maybe some classes or lectures in philosophy or anatomy. Chanting and pranayama are also part of the schedule. Sleeping early is encouraged as that is part of yogic practice.
